The first live period of the AAU season is officially wrapped up and the city of Indianapolis was the place to be this past weekend. With multiple AAU events happening in the area, the first live period weekend was highlighted by the loaded Nike EYBL Session 3 event, which took place in Westfield and had a huge Indiana basketball presence.
At EYBL this weekend, there were multiple, key 2025 Indiana basketball targets that were attendance. A player that is starting to gain some traction not only with Indiana basketball, but with the entire landscape of college basketball is 2025 four-star guard Kiyan Anthony.
Anthony is the son of NBA legend Carmelo Anthony. It has been well documented that Carmelo is very close with Indiana basketball head coach Mike Woodson with Woodson coaching him during his team as head coach of the New York Knicks.
While he was on the radar of Indiana basketball, his interest from the Hoosiers seemingly picked up over the weekend. Indiana had a coaching presence in nearly all of his games over the weekend but at one point, Indiana basketball went three deep with Mike Woodson, Kenya Hunter, and Yasir Rosemond all watching one of his games.
Anthony, a 6-foot-5 combo guard who runs with Team Melo, had a really strong weekend in Westfield. He averaged 22.3 points in four games this past weekend however Team Melo was only able to win one of those four contests.
There is a ton of potential in Kiyan Anthony. He is one of the bigger guards in the gym and really showed how explosive he can be on the ball. He is shooting guard that plays really consistent when on the ball and has a pretty high IQ and is able to take his defender one-on-one pretty well. Really does a great job of drawing in contact and getting to the line. He has some underrated athleticism, as well, but the jumper still needs some more work to it.
Along with Indiana basketball, schools such as Tennessee, Michigan, Florida State, Illinois, Syracuse, Maryland, West Virginia, and many others are involved with the four-star guard.
All signs point that Kiyan Anthony will take a visit to Indiana basketball later this year.
Anthony is rated No. 39 in the 247Sports Composite 2025 Rankings.
