The first live period of the AAU season is officially wrapped up and the city of Indianapolis was the place to be this past weekend. With multiple AAU events happening in the area, the first live period weekend was highlighted by the loaded Nike EYBL Session 3 event, which took place in Westfield and had a huge Indiana basketball presence.
At EYBL this weekend, there were multiple, key 2025 Indiana basketball targets that were attendance. Two Indiana basketball prospects that were in attendance last week happen to both be five-star guards and were on the same team, Darius Acuff and Trey McKenney.
Both Acuff and McKenney are a part of the very talented The Family 17U squad. The Family ended up going 2-2 on the weekend. They may very well be the best backcourt on the Nike EYBL circuit. Combined, the duo averaged 45.8 points in four games for The Family.
While Acuff is the more ball dominant of the two, they play so well off of one-another. Acuff will be the player that will get the offense going while McKenney will use his bruising strength to play at the defense. Both of them can shoot the ball really well and make plays around the rim.
Acuff, who goes to IMG Academy (FL), is rated as the No. 9 overall prospect in the 2025 247Sports Composite rankings. Along with Indiana basketball, schools such as Arkansas, Alabama, UConn, Kansas, Michigan State, Nebraska, and many others are also involved.
McKenney, who attends St. Mary’s (MI), is rated as the No. 12 overall prospect in the 2025 247Sports Composite rankings. Along with Indiana basketball, Michigan State, Michigan, Arkansas, Alabama, Illinois, Kansas, and others are also involved.
