The Indiana basketball program offered a scholarship to 2025 big man Eric Reibe back in May of 2023 — nearly a year and a half ago — before his recruitment blew up. Now a four-star prospect, Reibe is beginning to narrow in on the top schools he’s interested in.

After rising almost 90 spots in the latest recruiting update for 247Sports, up to No. 46 overall and No. 40 in the composite rankings, dozens of programs jumped into his recruitment. On Thursday, he made sure to limit it to 11 programs — Indiana basketball, Kentucky, UConn, North Carolina, Kansas, Harvard, Ohio State, West Virginia, Stanford, Oregon and Creighton.

With August rapidly approaching, visits are likely to begin getting scheduled in the very near future, but it’s unlikely he visits all 11 schools. Up to this point, he’s already taken a few visits to Creighton, Harvard and has a trip planned for Oregon later this fall.

His recruitment with the Indiana basketball program has been up and down. Since the IU staff was involved extremely early on in his process, there was no rush on either end to speed things up. But, after the buzz following his emergence as a top-50 prospect, Indiana made it clear it is still interested.

That included sending assistant coach Kenya Hunter to see him last week during the live period despite Reibe missing time with an injury. Kentucky was the only other program to send a staffer for multiple games like Indiana.

His play at the NBPA Top 100 Camp skyrocketed his stock. He averaged 19.7 points, 6.6 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game which included being seen in person by multiple college coaches.

Reibe is a lefty who can do a little bit of everything on the floor. He has good touch from the outside and can be a stretch-5 at the college level. He has good length and footwork to be effective in the paint as well.

Reibe originally played for New World on the Adidas 3SSB circuit before heading to the Pro16/NXT League. He plays for the Bullis School in Maryland.
