Indiana basketball lands commitment of 2025 four-star and in-state power forward Trent Sisley after a long recruitment.

Indiana basketball has landed their first commitment of the 2025 class in four-star, forward Trent Sisley. This commitment comes off the heels of his Indiana basketball visit September 20th weekend.

Sisley chose Indiana basketball over schools such as Purdue, Notre Dame, Michigan State, Iowa, and many others. He official list was Indiana, Purdue, Notre Dame, and Michigan State before ultimately deciding to commit to the Hoosiers.

You can make a very strong case that of all the prospects that Indiana basketball has went after in the 2025 class, the 6-foot-7 forward has become the most well-known recruit that Hoosiers Nation is familiar with. Nearly four year’s ago, Trent Sisley became one of the first players to receive an offer from Mike Woodson before he even played a single high school game at Heritage Hills (IN). Indiana basketball assistant coach Brian Walsh has been considered the leaders in the recruitment over the past four years.

Over the past four years, it has not been uncommon to see the Indiana basketball staff make in-home visits to see the four-star prospect down in Santa Claus, Indiana and even Florida as well as seeing Sisley at multiple games at Assembly Hall throughout the years.

Sisley, while technically an in-state prospect, recently transferred to Montverde Academy (FL) after spending his first three seasons at Heritage Hills High School (IN). It is well-documented Indiana’s history and relationship with the Monteverde Academy program having secured players such as Jalen Hood-Schifino, Malik Reneau, and at one point Liam McNeeley out of there.

This summer playing on the Adidas 3SSB Circuit for Indiana Elite, he averaged 13.4 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 13 games. Before transferring to Montverde Academy this past summer, he had a terrific junior season at Heritage Hills when he averaged 24.0 points, 11.5 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game. Sisley also became the all-time leading scorer in Heritage Hills school history this past season and wan a Indiana Junior all-Star.

He has played alongside key 2025 targets Jalen Haralson and Braylon Mullins on both Indy Heat and Indiana Elite.

“Sisley is a versatile forward with a well-rounded two-way game,” said 247Sports Director of Scouting Adam Finkelstein. “He’s a combo forward of sorts, capable of playing and defending multiple positions. He has adequate size to play the four, deceptively long arms, and a bit of underrated athleticism to give him some bounce at the rim. He’s physical and tough enough to battle bigger guys inside and on the glass. While Sisley doesn’t possess elite lateral quickness, he has good defensive instincts and really works to guard the perimeter.

“Overall, Sisley may not have the glaring upside of some other top prospects, but he’s a versatile, competitive, and productive two-way contributor who impacts winning, and projects likely to do the same thing at the next level.”

Sisley is rated as the No. 70 overall prospect according to the 247Sports 2025 Composite Rankings.

Indiana basketball will be looking to add to their 2025 recruiting class with players such as Braylon Mullins, Jalen Haralson, Eric Reibe, and others.

When it comes to the 2025 class on a national level, Trent Sisley is one of the more versatile forwards you will see out of any other. When he started his high school career, Sisley was most of a true power forward that would dominate the post with his elite bounce and athletic ability. Now, with a ton of work, Sisley is very capable of stepping out and hitting the three ball playing more as an inside-out wing at a high level. Sisley is also a high-level rim runner and can really get out and make plays in transition. You would be hard pressed to find a forward that has as many tools as Sisley does as a high school prospect.
