Live, running blog of Indiana basketball vs UCLA in the Hoosiers 15th Big Ten game of the 2024-25 season.

Indiana basketball continues Big Ten Conference play in its 125th season of competition against RV/RV UCLA at 8 p.m. ET on Friday, Feb. 14, at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall. The Hoosiers are coming off a stunning win at Michigan State on Tuesday.

The Bruins enter the game with a record of 18-7 (9-5 Big Ten) under sixth-year head coach Mick Cronin. UCLA has 10 players that average at least 10.0 minutes per game and six guys that score 7.5 points per game or more. Junior forward Tyler Bilodeau leads the team at 14.3 points per night to pair with 4.5 rebounds and 32 made 3-pointers.

Tipoff is set for 8:00 ET on FOX.

First half:

Indiana basketball wins the tip. Galloway feed to Ballo and he gets fouled. Ballo goes 2-2 at the line.

UCLA hits a three. 3-2 Bruins. Mgabko responds with a pull up jumper.

Leal scores. 6-3 Indiana.

Ballo picks up a foul.

Mgabko baseline drive converts.

Mgbako scores again. He is on fire this game.

Under-16 Media Timeout: Indiana basketball leads 10-9

Starters still on the floor out of the break for Indiana.

Indiana gets a stop out of the break. Leal went for a rebound but went out of bounds.

Reneau in for Ballo. Rice in for Leal.

Skyy Clark hits a three. UCLA up 2.

Tucker checks in for Mgbako.

Reneau strong take gets fouled. He goes 1-2. Hoosiers down 1.

UCLA now up 16-11. 

Reneau fouled and we go to break.

Reneau goes 2-2 at the line out of the break.

Goode picks up a foul. Ballo checks in.

UCLA extends lead to 22-13. Timeout Indiana basketball at the 8:59 mark.

Reneau feeds Ballo for a bucket plus the foul. Ballo misses the free throw however.

Under-8 Timeout: UCLA 24, Indiana basketball 15

UCLA has extended the lead to 12. No life from Indiana right now.

Goode gets a jumper to drop. Lot of  a 2-man game with him and Ballo there.

Galloway finally gets a three drop. Hoosiers down 9.

Myles Rice picks up a foul and we go to the last break of the of the half.

UCLA leads 29-20. 

Bruins score out of the break.

UCLA extends the lead to 33-20.

Carlyle hits a three. Hoosiers down 10.

Rice picks up his second foul.

Galloway quick score. UCLA calls a timeout with 25.2 left in the half. Indiana needs a 2-for-1 here real bad.

At the half: UCLA 35, Indiana basketball 25

Second half

UCLA ball out of the break.

Steal by Leal. Mgbako hits a three. UCLA answers with a jumper.

Goode scores through contact. No foul called. UCLA hits three.

Goode hits a three. Indiana basketball down 7. Have to finds stops.

Steal by Leal. Goode hits another three. Hoosiers down 4.

Galloway picks up a foul. UCLA gets the lead back up to 6 now.

Goode gets a jumper to drop. Hoosiers back down 4.

Oumar Ballo dives on the floor and forces a UCLA turnover. Hoosiers are COOKING right now. Assembly Hall is LOUD.

UCLA leads 42-38 with 15:40 to go. 

Mgbako misses a three out of the break. UCLA hits one, however.

Mgbako gets a jumper to drop. Indiana has got to find stops.

Ballo gets fouled. Ball did everything but go in. He goes 1-2 at the line.

UCLA hits another three.

UCLA back up 52-43.

Goode got jumper to fall with the shot clock winding down. Took the refs forever to review.

Under-12 Media Timeout: UCLA 52, Indiana basketball 45

Mgbako misses a three out of the break. Hoosiers get a stop, however, and Reneau scores.

UCLA pushes the lead to 10. Mike Woodson calls timeout. 9:28 to go.

Mgbako hits a three out of the break.

Ballo gets fouled. He 2-2 at the line. Hoosiers down 5.

UCLA three and the lead is back to 60-52. Bruins have an answer for everything.

UCLA leads by 10 again.

Myles Rice this a three to cut it 7.

Reneau got called for a foul and UCLA scored three points there. Back up to 10.

Rice layup. Lead down to 8.

Hoosiers get a stop. Goode got a steal and was fouled. Reneau gets a bucket and they are down 6.

Goode draws a charge. We go to the final break of the game.

UCLA leads 65-59 with 3:59 left. 

Galloway finds Reneau for the score. Hoosiers down 4.

UCLA scores. Back up 6.

Reneau got called for a travel. Hoosiers got a steal and Reneau put back in a Mgbako missed three.

UCLA calls timeout with 2:33 left. They lead Indiana basketball 67-63.

UCLA scores through a Mgbako foul. They push the lead to 7.

Indiana basketball turnover.

Luke Goode steal leads to nothing.

Refs stop the game at the 1:18 mark to review a play involving Leal. Looked like Leal got smacked in the face.

Technical foul was called on UCLA’s Mack. He would miss the front end of a 1 and 1.

Luke Goode would hit both technical FTs. Hoosiers down 5 with the ball.

UCLA missed the front-end off a 1 and 1 and Reneau scored and got the foul. He would make the free throw. Hoosiers down 2.

Jump ball called. Hoosiers ball.

Reneau and Mgbako missed bunnies but the Hoosiers got a lucky break with the ball going out of bounds.

Timeout with 9.0 left. Hoosiers ball.

Mgbako missed a three a three, Hoosiers foul with 4.2 left.

UCLA hits both free throws.
