The NBA Summer League is gearing up and former Indiana basketball freshman standout guard Romeo Langford has found a spot on the Philadelphia 76ers roster.

Langford last played in the NBA during the 2022-23 season. He spent last year with the Salt Lake City Stars, the G League affiliate for the Utah Jazz. He averaged 11.9 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game in 29.5 minutes a game for the Stars last year. Langford shot 46.1 percent from the field and 37.9 percent from three on 1.3 made 3s a game.

The former Indiana basketball guard had his best season with the San Antonio Spurs in 2022-23, averaging a career-best 6.9 points per game in 19.6 minutes a game. He appeared in 43 games and had 21 starts.

Across 141 games in four seasons, Langford has averaged 4.6 points in 16.1 minutes a game. He has never played more than 44 games in a season.

Injuries have been an issue for Langford since arriving in the NBA. He has dealt with wrist, knee, ankle and other minor injuries throughout his four years.

Langford had signed an Exhibit-10 contract with the Utah Jazz ahead of last season which gave him a training camp invite. He was later cut before singing with their G League team.

Langford, who was the 14th overall pick in the 2019 draft by the Boston Celtics, played just one season at Indiana. He was a Second-Team All-Big Ten selection after averaging 16.5 points, 5.4 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game.

Before arriving in Bloomington, Langford was named Mr. Indiana basketball in 2018.

Vegas Summer League runs from July 12-22. Before that, the 76ers will be playing in the Utah Summer League that begins on July 6.
