Indiana basketball has a need in the front court and is looking into Monmouth transfer big Nikita Konstantynovskyi.

According to a report from Jamie Shaw of On3.com, Indiana is one of the most recent teams to engage with Konstantynovskyi.

Konstantynovskyi is a 6-foot-10 center who averaged 9.3 points and 8.1 rebounds per game last season in 23.4 minutes a game.

He had 13 games in double-figures and had nine double-digit rebounding games with six double-doubles. His best game was 22 points and 20 rebounds against Stony Brook.

Konstantynovskyi is a terrific rebounder and had a 13.1 offensive rebound rate last season while averaging 2.8 offensive rebounds per game. For reference, Kel’el Ware had just a 7.9 offensive rebound percent for Indiana basketball last year and Trayce Jackson-Davis never saw above an 11.8 percent rebound rate.

Arizona transfer and new Indiana center Oumar Ballo had a 15.1 percent offensive rebound rate.

Konstantynovskyi scored 1.25 points per possession on put backs, ranking in the 70th percentile.

Prior to Monmouth, Konstantynovskyi spent two years at Tulsa and appeared in 29 games. He only played two games in 2022-23.

He also spent two years at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M, a junior college before arriving at Tulsa.

Konstantynovskyi is originally from Kyiv, Ukraine.

Indiana basketball has just two ‘bigs’ on the roster — Ballo and Malik Reneau. While a starter has not been on the radar for Indiana, adding depth and size to the front court was a must for the Hoosiers entering the summer.

Konstantynovskyi fits the role Indiana is looking for — a very strong rebounder and someone who has great size and length.

Indiana basketball has three scholarships remaining.
