Well, it is officially portal season and Indiana basketball is in for a crucial few months ahead of them. With multiple roster spots and needs that need to be filled ahead of next season, Mike Woodson and the Hoosiers cannot afford to strike out this time around.

When it comes to those ‘needs’ that the Hoosiers must secure in the transfer portal, elite guards and shooting stand at top of that list. Mike Woodson and Indiana basketball know that and have wasted no time reaching out to players that have already entered the portal with their season over with.

According to On3’s Jamie Shaw, Indiana basketball has been in contact with Penn grad transfer Clark Slajchert. The 6-foot-1 guard averaged 18.0 points and 2.9 assists this season while also shooting an outstanding 42.2% from three this season.

Schools such as UCLA, Rutgers, FAU, Arkansas, Penn State, Clemson, and others have reached out to Slajchert so far, as well.

Slajchert, a Los Angeles, California native, played three seasons at Penn appearing in 74 total games for the Quakers starting in 50 of those appearances. Due to the rule of the Ivy League, graduate players are not allowed to compete in athletics within the conference after graduating the making Slajchert available.

The combo guard is a proven shooter and saw his best field goal rate this season averaging a near 49% from the field. He is a player that can come in and step into a much needed role for the Indiana basketball program right away.

Below are highlight of Clark Slajchert.
