The Indiana basketball program continues to be extremely active in the transfer portal and more names have been connected to the Hoosiers just 24 hours into the official opening of the portal.

Scoring, guard play, shooting and rim protection are the keys for Indiana basketball in the portal and it stays heavy on guard play with the most recent name to be tied to the program. According to Jake Weingarten of StockRisers.com, Stanford guard Kanaan Carlyle has heard from Indiana, in addition to Georgia and Gonzaga among others.

Carlyle is a former top-60 prospect who played just one season at Stanford. During his freshman season he averaged 11.5 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game in 23 appearances. He missed the first month of the season but made an immediate impact when he returned to the floor. He scored in double-figures 15 times, including two 20-point games and one 31-point outing.

His career high was 31 points against Washington State. He also cored 28 points in his fourth game of the season against Arizona. He was 9-of-13 from three in those two games.

After shooting 44.7 percent on 2.1 made 3s per game in the first 10 games he played, his shot fell off. He shot just 20.8 percent from three on 4.1 attempts for the final 13 games of the season, totaling just 32 percent on the season.

Carlyle is a dynamic athlete and scorer, however. He has good size at 6-foot-3 and 190 pounds and does a terrific job getting to the rim. He shot 77.6 percent from the foul line while attempting 3.7 free throws per game.

Carlyle is originally from the Atlanta are and was a name that Indiana basketball briefly looked at during his high school recruiting process. It is expected that if Indiana continues to make a push for Carlyle, assistant coach Yasir Rosemond will play heavily in his recruitment this time around.

Coming out of high school, Carlyle had offers from Kansas, Tennessee, Baylor, Alabama, Auburn, Florida among others. He attended Milton (Ga.) before transferring to Overtime Elite.

He has three years of eligibility remaining.
