The Indiana basketball program wrapped up its trip in the Empire Classic on Monday night with a 74-66 win over Louisville in the third-place game.
Indiana went 1-1 in the event with a 20-point loss to UConn in the opener on Sunday.
Indiana basketball forward Malik Reneau received tournament honors, being named to the All-Tournament Team. Reneau averaged 15.0 points and was 10-of-14 from the field in two games.
Reneau, who had 18 points in the opener, was limited due to foul trouble. He fouled out against UConn at the 7:08 mark of the second half. He was nearly unguardable when he was on the floor, however.
Indiana basketball was -15 with Reneau on the bench.
“I think that’s promising, he played great against a great team,” Woodson said about Reneau’s performance against UConn. “He should build on that, he did a lot of great things.”
