The Indiana basketball program continues to push harder for one of the top players and point guards in the 2025 class and this past week proved it even more.

Five-star point guard Darius Acuff Jr had a breakout spring and summer and that continued at Peach Jam last week. The Cass Tech (Mich.) guard put on a show this season for The Family on the Nike EYBL circuit. His play raised each session and he ended his regular season averaging 20.1 points, 3.9 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game. His scoring average ranked fifth among the 17U division this season.

He averaged 15.2 points, 3.6 rebounds and 5.2 assists per game during Peach Jam. His assists per game ranked fourth in all of the 17U division.

Coming into the week, Acuff Jr was on the list of intriguing storylines related to the Indiana basketball staff and the first July live evaluation period. Indiana saw Acuff numerous times throughout the week and made it known it will be a program involved with Acuff throughout his recruitment.

According to Rivals National Recruiting Director Rob Cassidy, Acuff Jr is looking to visit Indiana and his relationship with the staff is growing.

“It’s a place I want to check out for sure,” Acuff Jr told Rivals. “They just tell me to keep working and trying to make it feel like family. They don’t want to just talk about recruiting all the time. They want to build a relationship with me and be a family.”

Acuff Jr holds offers from numerous high-profile programs. That includes Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Michigan State, Kansas, Houston, Ohio State, LSU, Nebraska, Rutgers and others.

Acuff Jr is ranked the No. 12 player in the 2025 247Sports Composite Rankings. He is listed as the No. 2 overall point guard in the class.

Acuff Jr led Cass Tech to a 27-1 record and the school’s first Division 1 state championship this season. He was named the MaxPreps Player of the Year in Michigan after averaging 21.4 points and 5.7 assists per game.
