The Indiana basketball program has been proactive in scheduling a more difficult non-conference schedule under head coach Mike Woodson and another high-major opponent has been added to the schedule. It was announced that Indiana will host South Carolina next season on Nov. 16.
The game will be played at Assembly Hall.
Indiana holds a 2-1 all-time advantage over South Carolina with the last game inside Assembly Hall coming in 1973.
South Carolina is coming off of a 26-8 record last season and a 6-seed int he NCAA Tournament. It was just the second season for head coach Lamont Paris.
South Carolina is the latest significant non-conference matchup to be placed on the Indiana basketball schedule under Mike Woodson, joining the likes of UConn, Arizona, Kansas, North Carolina, Kentucky, Auburn and others.
This will be another major non-conference matchup for the 2024-25 season as Indiana will be taking part in the Battle 4 Atlantis in November as well.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana men’s basketball program will host the South Carolina Gamecocks in a non-conference game on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2024, at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.
The time and television designation of the game will be announced at a later date.
The Hoosiers hold a 2-1 series lead over South Carolina. The Gamecocks will return to Bloomington for the first time since an 84-71 Hoosier win on Dec. 22, 1973. Indiana also took down South Carolina by a score of 76-55 on Nov. 8, 1998, in Indianapolis as part of the 1998 Hoosier Classic.
Overall, Indiana is 68-51 against teams currently residing in the Southeastern Conference.
