Indiana football kicks off week seven of the season as it travels to Michigan Stadium to face the No. 2 Michigan Wolverines. Indiana is 2-3 on the season, winless in the Big Ten while Michigan comes into week seven 6-0 on the year including 3-0 in the conference.

Indiana football is coming off a very eventful bye week as they fired Walt Bell as offensive coordinator and replaced him with Rod Carey.

Kick is set for 12:00 pm on FOX.

Pregame Notes

Availability report for week seven.

OUT: RB Josh Henderson, OL Max Longman, DB Jamier Johnson

QUESTIONABLE: QB Dexter Williams, WR Cam Camper, WR EJ Williams

It appears both Canper and EJ Williams will play.

It was reported by FOX that both Tayven Jackson and Brendan Sorsby would be play.

First Quarter

Indiana received the ball first and their first drive resulted in a 3-and-out. Indiana football punter James Evans was only able to punt the ball 28 yards giving Michigan very good field position already.

Indiana’s defense would force a 3-and-out for Michigan on their opening drive and was capped off by an Aaron Casey sack. Indiana technically gained more yards than Michigan on drive number one. 6 plays for -12 yards combined.

Indiana would gain the first, first down of the game.

The Hoosiers would have a very positive drive, however it would result in a Tayven Jackson interception by Michigan’s Rod Moore, who returned it for 38 more yards. Just a heartbreaking end to what was such a positive drive by the Indiana offense.

Indiana showed so much confidence with that drive, which mostly just quick throws and short passing yards.

Indiana’s defense would force yet another 3-and-out by Michigan. They would also get their second sack of the game on Michigan QB J.J. McCarthy.

Brendan Sorsby would check in for Tayven Jackson as planned. Sorsby would get a nice 16-yard run for a first in his opening series.

A tough situation would occur with Jaylin Lucas running right into the back of fellow RB Christian Turner. Turner remained down heading into the commercial break.

Indiana would strike first with a very creative play with a backwards pass to WR Donaven McCulley who then threw it 45 yards to a wide open Jaylin Lucas.

Hoosiers lead 7-0 with 2:17 left in Q1.

The first quarter would end as Indiana football was out-gaining No. 2 Michigan in total yards, 141-17.

End Q1: Indiana 7, Michigan 0

Second Quarter

Indiana’s defense would have their worst stance so far in the game as Michigan’s offense got the ball moving finally.

Michigan would eventually tie things up at 7 at the 11:19 mark in Q2 with a Blake Forum 1-yard rush TD. After the play, former Indiana TE AJ Barner was called for a unsportsmanlike Conduct penalty.

The next Indiana drive would result in a James Evans 35-yard punt.

Michigan would march down the field and score off an easy 2-yard pass by McCarthy to Roman Wilson at the 3:24 mark in Q2. They converted on 4th-and-goal.

Sorsby would throw a 37-yard bomb to McCulley but would be called back for a hands to the face call on the offense. Just a crushing call.

Hoosiers would punt it away and Michigan would have a 31-yard return. Michigan with the ball with 1:40 left in the second quarter.

The Wolverines would score on another Blake Corum short run.

At the half: Michigan 21, Indiana 7

Third Quarter

Michigan with the ball to start off the second half.

Indiana again would have another chance to force a stop on Michigan but a defensive miscommunication led to a wide-open Colston Loveland for a 54 yard TD.

Michigan up 28-7 with 12:22 left in Q3.

Indiana’s next drive would be a 3-and-out. James Evans would punt it 50 yards out.

Michigan would score another TD yet again on the next drive. Semaj Morgan with a 7-yard TD.

Michigan leads 35-7 with 8:28 left in Q3.

Tayven Jackson would return at QB. His return drive would result in a fumble as he got rocked by a Michigan defender. Set up Michigan right in the redzone.

Indiana would hold Michigan to a FG. Wolverines up 38-7 with 5:18 left in Q3.

Brendan Sorsby for whatever reason was back in QB. The QB rotation for Indiana is highly confusing.

Indiana football WR Omar Cooper Jr. would have an insane catch where he caught in the air, flipped backwards, and landed on his head. He was ok but the catch was incredible.

A few plays later, Sorsby would be sacked and then Michigan would recover the fumble.

Former Indiana football QB Jack Tuttle would enter the game for J.J. McCarthy.

End Q3: Michigan 38, Indiana 7

Fourth Quarter

Michigan would score another TD at the 12:02 mark. Donovan Edwards with a 2-yard rush TD.

Michigan 45-7.

Tayven Jackson would return at QB. Can’t make this up.

Jackson would throw an interception. His second of the day.

Jack Tuttle would throw for another TD. Short, up the middle, 4-yard pass to Karmello English.

Michigan up 52-7 at the 6:03 mark.

Brendan Sorsby would come in for Tayven Jackson. Yup.

Game would finally come to an end.

Indiana drops to 2-4 on the year and is winless in Big Ten.
