Live game updates of week four's matchup between Indiana football and Akron on Saturday night at Memorial Stadium.

Indiana football kicks off week four of the season as it hosts the Akron Zips. Both teams are 1-2 on the season

Last week, Indiana football fell to Louisville 21-14 but showed promise in the second half.

Tayven Jackson gets his third start of the season, and his second since being officially named the starting quarterback.

Kick is set for 7:30 pm on Big Ten Network.

Below is the full live blog plus recap.

Pregame Notes

Kickoff has been delayed 10 minutes and is now scheduled for 7:40pm.

Bray Lynch OL who was listed as questionable is not in uniform tonight.

Nic Toomer DB who was listed as questionable is in uniform and warming up.

Jamier Johnson DB (Out) was seen with a cast on his right hand.

First Quarter

Akron wins the toss and defers, Indiana will start with the football.

Tayven Jackson is sacked on third down and Indiana goes three and out.

Akron starts on their own 21 after James Evans’ 53 yard punt.

Akron moved the ball onto the Indiana side of the field but DJ Irons is intercepted by Phillip Dunnam (3rd interception) and Indiana takes over on their own 16.

Tayven Jackson hits Cam Camper for 40 yards but the drive stalls after a big drop by Donaven McCulley on 3rd down.

Akron moves the ball across the 50 again but the drive stalls after a  penalty. Indiana takes over on their own 15.

After one quarter we remain tied 0-0. Indiana will have it on the Akron 34 to start the second quarter but it’s 4th and 2.

Second Quarter

Indiana does not convert the 4th down as Jackson’s pass is incomplete and Akron takes over at their own 34.

Indiana forces the three and out and gets the ball back at their own 19.

After Tayven Jackson and Cam Camper connect for 40 yards, Christian Turner runs it in from the 6 giving Indiana the 7-0 lead.

DJ Irons is intercepted on 3rd and 19 by Louis Moore who takes it back to the Akron 4.

Donaven McCulley is stuffed twice on the QB keeper and Akron takes over at their own one yard line.

On 3rd and 10, Louis Moore makes the tackle on Alex Adams on the IU sideline. A scuffle broke out after the play but penalties are offsetting and it was ruled after the play so the down counts and IU takes over on their own 39 after the punt.

Next play, Tayven Jackson is intercepted by Andrew Behm who takes it back to the IU 24.

Indiana is able to hold Akron to a field goal despite starting inside the 25. Indiana leads 7-3

After a big return from Jaylin Lucas, the Indiana offense stalls and punts it down to the Akron 21.

At the half Indiana leads 7-3

Third Quarter

On 3rd and 11 and DJ Irons hits Bobby Golden for 22 yards. Andre Carter was called for roughing the passer and Akron gets it at the IU 14. Next play, DJ Irons runs it in for 6 giving Akron a 10-7 lead over Indiana

Akron goes for an onside kick and recovers it after the ball hits off of DeQuece Carter. Akron has it at their own 44.

Akron drives down to the Indiana 34 and goes for it on 4th down. Irons’ pass is incomplete and Indiana takes over at their own 34.

Indiana goes three and out and punts it to the Akron 12.
Louis Moore intercepts the pass (his second interception of the game) from Jeff Undercuffler Jr. and takes it to the house for 6 giving Indiana the 14-10 lead.

Akron keeps the offense on the field on 4th and 4 at the IU 34 and Andre Carter gets the big sack on 4th down. IU takes over on their own 48.

Indiana goes three and out and will punt to start the 4th quarter.

End of 3Q: Indiana 14 Akron 10

Fourth Quarter

Akron starts at their own 20 and Indiana forces the three and out. Akron punts it to the IU 27.

Indiana drives it down to the 1 but can’t finish the drive. They settle for the 19 yard FG and extend the lead to 17-10.

Indiana forces the three and out and Akron punts it back to IU at their own 38.

Akron goes two plays for 80 yards to tie it up at 17-all.

DJ Irons goes for 34 yards all the way down to the Indiana 25. 1:15 left.

Akron misses a 32-yarder as time expires. OT coming.

After two touchdowns in the first overtime, Indiana hits a 38-yard FG in the first possession of second OT.
