Hoosier Illustrated Live Blog FINAL: Indiana basketball 82, USC 69

Indiana basketball continues Big Ten Conference play in its 125th season of competition against USC at 7 p.m. ET on Wednesday, Jan. 8, at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall. The Hoosiers are coming off their most impressive win on the year with a road victory at Penn State last weekend.

The Trojans enter the game with a record of 9-5 (1-2 Big Ten) in their debut season in the Big Ten under first-year head coach Eric Musselman. Junior guard Desmond Claude leads USC in scoring at 14.9 points per game. Graduate senior wing Chibuzo Agbo adds 12.8 points per outing and had knocked down a team-best 34 3-pointers this season.

Tipoff is set for 7 pm on BTN.

Indiana basketball wins the tip and we are off. Missed jumper by Myles Rice. USC missed their shot as well.

Rice misses a corner three. Out of bands on USC. Rice got called for a travel.

USC hits a three to get the first bucket of the game.

Mgbako misses a corner three. Out of bounds by USC.

USC goes up 5-0.

Few more misses and Ballo gets the cleanup up bucket.

USC goes up 9-2.

Myles Rice quick drive in the lane and gets a bucket. Missed jumper by USC. and Rice scores again on the fast break.

Ballo finds Goode for three and he nails it. Hoosiers first three of the game.

USC scores out of the break.

Mackenzie Mgbako 0-of-6 from the field so far.

USC extends lead to 17-9.

Indiana basketball calls timeout. Indiana needs to wake up.

USC now up 19-9.

Luke Goode hits a much needed three.

Galloway gets a floater to drop. USC up 8.

Tucker gets a midrange jumper to fall. He got another one to fall. Hoosiers down 6.

Jump ball called after a Tucker turnover. Hoosiers up to 5 turnovers this half.

Ballo gets the ball in a post-up action and finds Leal for the cut. Leal got fouled and he goes 1-2 at the line.

Carlyle gets a three to drop. Hoosiers down 2.

Rice took a wild shot but got fouled. He goes 2-2 at the line. Tie ballgame.

USC hits a three. Bad switching going with Indiana basketball.

Ballo fouled on a jump shot. He goes 2-2 at the line.

GREAT defense by Kanaan Carlyle just now. Need that energy all game.

Ballo goes 2-2 at the line. We are tied at 28.

Ballo bucket and Indiana has their first lead with 3:15 to go in the first half.

Kanaan Carlyle has picked up his 2nd foul. Both really questionable.

Goode hits his third 3.

Galloway drives, pulls up, finds Goode, one dribble pull up, bucket. Hoosiers up 37-33.

Rice drives. He gets fouled. He goes 1-2 at the line.

Second Half

Starters out for the Hoosiers. Indiana basketball.

USC scores first out of the break.

Galloway finds Ballo to tie it back up. Hoosiers gotta get stops.

Galloway floater gives the Hoosiers the lead back.

Defensive stop and Rice get a craft bucket.

Galloway three. Rice gets a steal, dives on the floor, calls a timeout.

Galloway scores out of the timeout. Indiana leads 49-41.

Rice fouled. Media timeout. Indiana up 49-43.

Rice goes 2-2 at the line.

Gallo to ‘oop to Ballo. Indiana playing really good but still struggling a bit on defense.

Galloway gets another floater to drop. Up to 11 points.

Indiana basketball up 10 now.

USC 3 cuts the lead to 59-52.

Rice gets fouled. He goes 1-2 at the line. Hes done a good job at getting to the stripe tonight.

Tucker with a spin move and scores at the bucket. He has had a really good night.

Langdon Hatton checks in for Ballo.

Goode hits a three and is fouled and we go to break.

USC cuts into the lead a bit with back-to-back buckets.
