Indiana basketball continues Big Ten Conference play in its 125th season  in men’s basketball on the road against Iowa at 8 p.m. ET on Saturday, Jan. 11, at Carver-Hawkeye Arena. The Hoosiers are coming off another win in Big Ten play vs USC.

The Hawkeyes enter the game with a record of 11-4 (2-2 Big Ten) under 15-year head coach Fran McCaffery. Iowa ranks second in the country in scoring offense at 89.9 points per game. They average 10.8 made 3-pointers per game and shoot the long ball at a 39.1% clip. Six Hawkeyes average at least 9.0 points per game, led by 16.7 points and 6.3 rebounds per night from sophomore forward Owen Freeman. Senior wing Payton Sandfort adds 16.5 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per outing.

Tipoff is set for 8 pm on FOX.

First half:

Indiana basketball wins the tip and we are off.

Strong drive by Myles Rice and gets fouled and rewarded with a trip at the line. He goes 2-2 at the line. Hoosiers on the board first.

Ballo got beat off the dribble by Owen Freeman missed the layup.

Mgbako gets a jumper to fall. Hoosiers up 4-0.

Iowa with a quick response. Few plays later they tie it up.

Iowa hits a three and are up 7-4. Steal from Iowa and they up 9-4 now.

Luke Goode misses a three.

Another steal and Iowa is up 11-4. 9 points off turnovers so far.

Under-16 Media timeout: Iowa 11, Indiana basketball 4.

Ballo gets called on Oumar Ballo. Iowa extends the lead to 13-4.

Ballo got called for a travel. 7th turnover by Indiana. Langdon Hatton checks in.

Hawkeyes extend the lead to 18-6.

Rice gets a quick bucket. Hoosiers down 10.

Iowa up 21-8. Pathetic.

Hatton gets fouled. He goes 2-2 at the line.

Myles Rice hits a three. Good screen by Hatton. Hoosiers cut the lead to 21-13.

Leal gets called for a foul and we go to break. Iowa up 21-13.

Tucker hits a pull-up three. Hoosiers down 8.

Rice splits defenders and Indiana down 23-17 now. Have to buy in on defense.

Ballo gets a bucket plus the foul. He misses the free throw, however.

Kanaan Carlyle hits a pull and the Hoosiers cut the lead to just 23-22. 9-0 run by the Hoosiers.

Stela by Leal and Tucker slams it. Timeout Iowa. Hoosiers up 24-23 now. 11-0 run.

Steal by Bryson Tucker. Hoosiers settle down and Iowa gets called for the reaching foul.

Leal finds Ballo. Hoosiers up 26-23. 13-0 run.

Iowa finally hits a bucket to stop the Indiana run.

Carlyle pull form free throw line connects.

Iowa three ties it up.

Iowa takes the lead. 30-28.

11th turnover by Indiana basketball and Iowas extends the lead to 32-28.

Iowa back up 35-28. Timeout Indiana. 35-28.

15 of Iowa’s points have come off of turnovers. Indiana has 11 turnovers with 3:31 left in the first half. This is a different ballgame if Indiana takes care of the ball.

Another turnover. Iowa up 11 again.

Rice gets Indiana’s first points in nearly 5 minutes.

Luke Goode three cuts the lead down to 10.

At the half: Iowa 43, Indiana basketball 33

Second Half: 

Ballo called for a foul to start the half.

Ballo makes up for it with a score.

Strong attack by Myles Rice gets him to the line. He goes 1-2.

Iowa three and the Hawkeyes are back up 13.

Mgbako gets called for the foul on the Iowa three. Iowa up 52-36 now.

Galloway picked up his 3rd foul.

Iowa is up 57-38. Indiana calls timeout. 

Ballo gets fouled out of the break. On the ground.

Indiana is just getting punked right now. No fight. No heart.

Mgbako got a bucket plus the foul shot made. Indiana still down 67-43. 

Indiana is just getting beat any which way Iowa wants to beat them.

Iowa has the lead to 72-48. 7:27 left to go.

Leal got fouled. He missed he front end of a 1 and 1.

Indiana basketball on a 2:50 scoring drought.

Langdon Hatton pull up jumper ends the drought.

Last media timeout: Iowa leads 78-50

Tucker goes 1-2 at the line.

Tucker baseline slam. Indiana is down 26.
