NBA free agency began on Sunday night and former IU basketball standout Eric Gordon has found a new home with the Philadelphia 76ers.

According to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, Gordon will join the 76ers on a one-year deal for the veteran’s minimum.

Eric Gordon is coming off of a one-year stint with the Phoenix Suns where he averaged 11.0 points and shot 37.8 percent from three.

Gordon, who is entering his 17th NBA season, had some of his best years in the NBA under 76ers GM Daryl Morey, during their time with the Houston Rockets. Gordon won the Sixth Man of the Year during the 2016-17 season and averaged 15.7 points while shooting 36 percent from three over 379 games with Houston.

For his career that has spanned 886 games, Eric Gordon has averaged 15.7 points and shot 37.1 percent from three.

Gordon will join Andre Drummond and Paul George as the early additions for the 76ers in free agency — a team trying to load up to make a deep playoff push this year.

A former 7th overall selection in the 2008 NBA Draft, Eric Gordon played just one season for IU basketball. He averaged 20.9 points and shot 33.7 percent from three en route to a Big Ten Freshman of the Year honor to go along with Third-Team AP All-American and First-Team All-Big Ten honors.
