Former Indiana basketball player Victor Oladipo traded to the Memphis Grizzlies

As reported by NBA Insider for ESPN Adrian Wojnarowski, former Indiana basketball player Victor Oladipo was traded from the Houston Rockets to the Memphis Grizzlies.

The Rockets land center Steven Adams while the Grizzlies also acquired three second round picks in addition to Oladipo. Two of the second round draft picks are in 2024 and the other one is a 2025 pick.

Oladipo has not played this season after tearing his patellar tendon in his right knee injury in the 2023 NBA Playoffs while playing for the Miami Heat. There is currently no timetable for Oladipo’s return to action in 2023-24.

Oladipo averaged 10.7 points, 3 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.4 steals in 42 games last season.

Adams recently underwent season-ending surgery for a knee injury he suffered in January but should play a big role alongside Rockets big, Alperen Sengun. Before the injury, Adams was averaging 8.6 points per game and 11.3 rebounds per game for the Grizzlies.

Oladipo’s significant injury history has plagued what was once a promising career in which he averaged 23.1 points per game in 2017-18 with the Indiana Pacers.

Now Oladipo will get a fresh start as he continues to recover from injury.
