The IU basketball season and the Mike Woodson era has officially come to an end.

The Hoosiers and the world found out that Indiana would not be a part of the 2025 NCAA Tournament on Sunday evening. While it is still no real shock that Indiana did not make the tournament, they did enough to feel that they would sneak in regardless.

With Hoosiers being out, it was controversial to some that teams such as North Carolina, Texas, and Xavier made it over the Hoosiers, considering IU basketball had a better resume on paper.

There were many people that weighed in on the decision by the NCAA Tournament committee to leave IU basketball out of the field of 68, but there was a pretty notable comment made by former head coach of the Hoosiers, Tom Crean.

“Indiana has been and always will be a Blue Blood,” said Tom Crean in a Tweet. “I actually thought they would get in. I also thought North Carolina would. Indiana definitely finished strong enough to get in. That’s a head scratcher.”

It is a head scratcher that the Hoosiers did not make the NCAA Tournament but regardless, IU basketball should never be in the position to begin with.

The process of the Hoosiers finding their next head coach will ramp up in the coming weeks.
