2025 defensive back and former Pitt pledge Zacharey Smith commits to Indiana football

The Indiana football program made a massive impression on 2025 defensive back Zacharey Smith following his visit to Bloomington this week and he flipped his commitment.

On Thursday, Zacharey Smith announced he would be de-committing from Pitt and flipping his pledge to Indiana.

Smith held offers from numerous major programs despite being unranked, including Texas A&M, Auburn, Kentucky, Louisville, Georgia Tech and others.

The Hapewell Charter (Ga.) prospect played both sides of the ball last year and had 19 tackles, two tackles for loss and three interceptions. He tallied 169 all-purpose yards.

The 6-foot, 170-pounder is the 12th commit for the Indiana football program in the 2025 recruiting class.
