The Indiana football program added numerous newcomers to its defensive unit this offseason. Some of the notable transfers include Andre Carter, cand Jacob Mangum-Farrar.
All three players have emerged as potential playmakers for the Indiana defense. Most notably is Carter, a transfer from Western Michigan. Carter enters as a playmaker on the defensive line. He is coming off a 2022 season where he totaled 70 tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss, seven sacks, two forced fumbles and an interception.
“He’s a difference maker,” Indiana football head coach Tom Allen said of Carter. “It’s become pretty obvious. We need to have that — someone to pressure the quarterback. He’s such a big, physical presence in there, especially with the run on well. Love what he brings and we are going to be creative with that … I’m excited about able to move around and create matchups that we are looking for.”
Carter in addition to Minor and Mangum-Farrar spoke to reporters on Thursday.
