The Indiana football program received another commitment from the transfer portal on Tuesday with the announcement that James Madison defensive lineman transfer Mikail Kamara.
Kamara had recently visited Pitt and had an offer from Cincinnati as well.
Kamara was tremendous a season ago for James Madison, totaling 52 tackles, 17.5 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks and three forced fumbles. In three seasons at JMU, he had 82 tackles, 26.5 tackles for loss, 13.5 sacks and four fumble recoveries.
He earned Second-Team All-Sun Belt honors in 2023. This past season was his first full season after dealing with some injuries the first few years at JMU.
The 6-foot-1 and 265-pound pass rusher has two years of eligibility remaining.
Indiana football lost numerous players on the defensive line including notable names like Andre Carter, Patrick Lucas, LeDarrius Cox, Nick James.
Kamara is the sixth player to either transfer in from James Madison or flip their commitment as a 2024 prospect to Indiana. Kamara is the seventh player that Indiana football has added through the transfer portal this month.
