Senior wide receiver Donaven McCulley is no longer a member of the Indiana football team and plans to enter the transfer portal sources have confirmed to HoosierIllustrated.com.
McCulley led the team with 48 catches for 644 receiving yards and six receiving touchdowns in 2023.
The former quarterback turned wide receiver entered the transfer portal after Tom Allen was fired following the 2023 season. He ultimately decided to return to Indiana football despite interest from Michigan, Penn State, Kentucky, Texas A&M, UCLA, Mississippi State, Nebraska, and others.

Despite being a huge piece of the offense a season ago, McCulley struggled to get onto the field under Curt Cignetti. The wide receiver caught just two passes for 21 yards and a touchdown in four appearances this season for Indiana football.
Cignetti publicly challenged the 6-foot-5 wide receiver during the spring camp, and the two were unable to get on the same page as McCulley had been a non-factor in the offense.
McCulley will use his redshirt this season and will finish his collegiate career elsewhere.
