After zero sellout crowds over the last two and a half years, the IU football program announced a second sellout in four weeks.

A week after announcing its Homecoming game against Nebraska this upcoming weekend would be a sellout, the program announced on Monday that its matchup with No. 24 Michigan would also be a sellout.

That’s two sellout games in a four week span — including two of three home games over that time.

“I think it’s more about us performing as well as we’re capable of performing, and give the crowd a reason to really get into the game, which I’m highly confident we will. We have up to this point every time we’ve gone out, and a lot of confidence in this group. It’s an experienced group, high-character guys. We feed off each other.

Indiana is off to the its best start to a season since 1967 — and it coincides with Cignetti’s debut season in Bloomington.

“It was just awesome having our fans there being able to support us. We love that, we all were energetic and happy that they came to support us and stayed the whole game,” IU receiver Omar Cooper said. “Going over there and celebrating with the fans and students and getting to thank them for coming. It was good just showing them that we care and that we are happy they’re supporting us.”

IU football is one of just two programs to have not trailed in a single game this season.

Following its week six win over Northwestern, Indiana improved to a 51.5 percent chance of making the College Football Playoff. After its bye week Indiana moved slightly lower, to 46.3 percent.

The Hoosiers have six games remaining in their schedule — with four home games.
