Teri Moren has landed her first commitment in the transfer portal this spring as Tennessee forward Karoline Striplin made her pledge to the Indiana women’s basketball program on Thursday.

The 6-foot-3 forward averaged 7.2 points and 3.1 rebounds per game in 14.4 minutes last season for the Lady Vols. Her productivity stands out with her per-40 minute averages last year at 19.9 points and 8.7 rebounds per game. She started 11 of 33 games played.

“Karoline is a tough post player who can score inside and out while also establishing herself as a great post defender,” Moren said. “She is a player who we’ve faced a couple of times and have been familiar with since high school, so we know her skill set and work ethic will be the perfect fit for us. We are excited for Karoline and her family to be Hoosiers.”

Striplin was in double-figures eight times last year and had one double-double. She had 13 points and three rebounds against Indiana in November.

Her best game was a career-high 29 points on 11-of-20 from the field in her first career start against Middle Tennessee. She was 4-of-8 from three as well.

While Striplin is not a major threat from the perimeter, she did hit 18 3s last year and shot 31 percent on the season.

As a sophomore, Striplin averaged 4.7 points and 3.0 rebounds in 13.7 minutes a game. She started 28 of 33 games played.

She shot 38.7 percent and hit 12 3s.

Striplin scored in double-figures in four games.

For her career Striplin has started 39 games and played in 91, bringing legit SEC experience to the Indiana women’s basketball program next season.

Indiana is looking to replace the production lost by Mackenzie Holmes, a two-time All-American forward and all-time winningest and all-time leading scorer in program history. Indiana also loses reserve forward Arielle Wisne who appeared in 12 games last year.

Striplin adds to a returning core for the Hoosiers that includes Chloe Moore-McNeil, Sydney Parrish and Yarden Garzon — all starters who bring back major experience.

Striplin was Ms. Basketball in 2021 out of Alabama and a top-45 player in the ESPN class of 2021 rankings.
