As the smoke begins to clear, some of the top targets in the transfer portal are starting to emerge for Indiana football.

Visits are beginning and for Indiana, it is set to host numerous prospects over the next two weekends. One of the most notable transfer targets will be in Bloomington next weekend.

UConn tight end transfer Justin Joly will be visiting Indiana football the weekend of Dec. 16, he confirms to HoosierIllustrated.com. Brian Dohn of 247Sports had the initial report.

Joly was fantastic with the Huskies, totaling 56 catches for 578 yards and two touchdowns this season. In 2022 he had 17 receptions for 238 yards and two touchdowns.

Joly played three games against power-five programs in 2023. He had eight receptions for 89 yards against Tennessee. He had two receptions for 26 yards against Duke and then four receptions for 36 yards against NC State.

There is a tie between Joly and the new Indiana football staff as Curt Cignetti saw firsthand Joly’s talent this year. Joly had seven catches for 61 yards against James Madison this season.

Joly is a 6-foot-3 and 235-pound prospect who has a great frame, athleticism and strength for his position.

He did have a planned visit to Tennessee but cancelled that. His other visit set up is to NC State this weekend. Some other programs involved are Houston, Mississippi State, Vanderbilt, Arizona State, Colorado and others.

“NC State, Arizona State and Indiana are probably on me the hardest right now,” Joly told 247Sports earlier this week.

From Iona Preparatory (NY) High School, he had 123 catches for 1,827 yards and 22 touchdowns across three seasons.

In the 247Sports transfer rankings, Joly is ranked the No. 23 overall transfer and the No. 2 tight end in the portal. He has two years of eligibility remaining.
