The kickoff time has been set for the next time the Indiana football program hits the field. On Monday, the Big Ten announced that Indiana’s matchup with Michigan in week seven will be FOX’s Big Noon kickoff.

The matchup is scheduled for Saturday, October 14 at Noon and will be on FOX.

Indiana is entering a bye week this week following a 44-17 loss to Maryland last Saturday, bringing its record to 2-3 on the season.

Michigan is 5-0 and travels to Minnesota this weekend.

The next time the Indiana football program takes the field will be the debut of Rod Carey as offensive coordinator. On Sunday, Indiana head coach Tom Allen announced that Walt Bell had been fired and Carey would be taking over the play calling duties.

Carey is in the middle of his second season with the program as the quality control coach. Last season he served as the interim run game coordinator and offensive line coach following the firing of Darren Hiller.

Carey went 64-50 as head coach at Northern Illinois University (2012-18) and Temple University (2019-21) with seven bowl appearances.

Through five games this year, Indiana is averaging 20.8 points per game, 13th in the Big Ten.

Indiana is 2-18 in the last 20 Big Ten games and has given up 403 points in losses — an average of 22.4 points per loss. 10 losses have been by at least 20 points.
