Indiana football adds 33 players during Early Signing Period

Indiana football needed a roster overhaul and it did just that as new head coach Curt Cignetti and his staff brought in 33 new players during the early signing period.

In total, 17 players are transfers while 16 are from the high school level. 23 players will arrive on campus early for the spring semester.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana head football coach Curt Cignetti announced on Sunday (Dec. 24) the signing of 33 student-athletes to play for the Hoosiers in 2024.

Sixteen of the 33 signed National Letters of Intent, while 17 transfer student-athletes will head to Bloomington. Of the 33 signess during the early signing period, 23 will arrive on campus for the spring semester. Along with the 16 transfers, freshmen Tyler Cherry (Greenwood, Ind.), Dontrae Henderson (Charlotte, N.C.), Brody Kosin (Davisburg, Mich.), Mario Landino (Macungie, Pa.), Daniel Ndukwe (Lithonia, Ga.) and Josh Philostin (Palm Beach, Fla.) will also enroll in classes in January and participate in spring practice.

IU signed 20 players on offense, 11 on defense and two specialists. Indiana’s defense added five defensive linemen, three defensive backs and three linebackers, while the Hoosier offense on boarded seven offensive linemen, four running backs, four wide receivers, three quarterbacks and two tight ends. The special teams unit added one long snapper and one kicker.

The signees arrive in Bloomington from 13 different states and one from Canada. In all, eight from Virginia signed with the Hoosiers and four more came from the state of Indiana. Three each from Florida, Georgia, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin joined two newcomers form Maryland. IU then signed one each from Illinois, Michigan, North Carolina, New York, Tennessee, Texas. Kurtis Rourke joins the program from Oakville, Ontario, via Ohio University.
