In a different twist, the latest chapter of the Indiana basketball vs Purdue Rivalry takes place tonight. No, it won’t be at Assembly Hall or Mackey Arena….it won’t even be on the gridiron at Memorial Stadium or Ross–Ade Stadium. Instead, it will take place at Hinkle Fieldhouse. Yes, you heard that correctly.

Tonight, the second round of The Basketball Tournament takes place in the Butler Regional between Assembly Ball and Men of Mackey, both Indiana basketball and Purdue’s TBT themed squads which features a host of former players from each program. While this technically has no ties to either program officially, it is obviously something fans of both schools are going to want to see.

“Probably for them (it’ll be a big game),” Said former Indiana basketball forward Juwan Morgan. “To us, it’s just another game.”

Game Highlights: Assembly Ball — IU basketball alumni — defeats The Cru in first round of TBT

Assembly Ball got to this point behind Yogi Ferrell’s 27 points as well as Juwan Morgan’s double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds. Former Miami big man Julian Gamble added 17 points as well in the victory over “The Cru” on Friday night.

Men of Mackey took care of Fort Wayne Champs, 75-63.

Tip off tonight is 8:00 pm ET on FS1.

“Oh yeah, it should be great man,” Former Indiana basketball guard Yogi Ferrell said. “To be out there, they are going to have their fans and we are going to have ours. It’ll be another electric game.”
