The Indiana basketball program hits the hardwood for game number four of the 2024-25 season on Thursday night and released its official injury report this afternoon.
The Big Ten began with its weekly availability report for football and basketball last season. Programs will have to release their injury reports 2-3 hours before tip.
There were two Hoosiers on the availability report, including freshman guard Jakai Newton and sophomore guard Gabe Cupps. Both were listed as out for tonight’s game vs UNCG.
Senior wing Anthony Leal, who has not played a single game in the regular season thus far, was not on the availability report meaning he is good to go.

After not seeing the floor as a freshman due to a knee injury, Newton has appeared in one game this year and played eight minutes against Eastern Illinois. He scored two points and grabbed two rebounds. Mike Woodson has been very consistent with his messaging around Newton — it’s more of a workload aspect at this point and continuing to make sure they don’t bring him back full-go too soon. Woodson did note that Newton “tweaked his hamstring” last week so that is something to monitor.
As for Cupps, he was available last game vs South Carolina but did not get into the game. The Indiana basketball sophomore guard is averaging 7.5 minutes a game this season.
Tipoff is set for 6:30 PM ET and will be on FS1.
