As it was announced, Indiana basketball has landed a commitment from 2025 four-star forward Trent Sisley of Montverde Academy (FL). This is Mike Woodson’s first commitment of the 2025 recruiting class for the Hoosiers.

His commitment to Indiana came just after his official visit to Bloomington recently. Sisley had made multiple visits to Bloomington over the years.

After a long, yet very consistent recruitment, Indiana basketball landed one of their top priority targets in the class of 2025. The Indiana basketball staff had been recruiting Sisley to Bloomington for nearly four years, even before he played a single high school game. He was one of the first players to receive an offer from Mike Woodson and his staff when Woodson took over as head coach of the Hoosiers.

Sisley, a 6-foot-7 forward out of Santa Claus, Indiana, spent his first three seasons of his high school career playing for Heritage Hills High School, the school that both his dad and older played at. Ahead of senior season, Sisley made the decision to transfer to Montverde Academy down in Florida. The Montverde Academy is very well-known for it’s strong ties to Indiana basketball with Mike Woodson and the Hoosiers having secured players such as Jalen Hood-Schifino, Malik Reneau, and at one point Liam McNeeley out of there.

Before transferring to Montverde Academy this past summer, he had a terrific junior season at Heritage Hills when he averaged 24.0 points, 11.5 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game. Sisley also became the all-time leading scorer in Heritage Hills school history this past season and wan a Indiana Junior all-Star. This summer playing on the Adidas 3SSB Circuit for Indiana Elite, he averaged 13.4 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 13 games.

He is the No. 70 ranked player in the 247Sports Composite Rankings. He has been tabbed as four-star his entire high school career.

Trent Sisley is bringing elite versatility to Indiana basketball

Trent Sisley is one of the more versatile players you are going to find in the entre 2025 class. Starting off as more of a true power forward playing mostly around the basketball, Sisley developed his offensive game throughout the years to be able to stretch the floor. As Sisley’s high school career carried on, he became more and more comfortable stepping out and knocking down the three ball has steadily improved as time has went on.

It has been no secret ever since Mike Woodson took over as the Indiana basketball head coach four years ago, he has made it a goal to have versatile forwards that can play both inside-and-out at a high level. That is exactly what Sisley’s game is being able to be a playmaker in both areas. He can not only use his elite level athletic ability to make plays off the bounce around the rim, but can score from the wing via a catch-and-shoot three or taking his defender off the dribble, dominating the lane.

With his 6-foot-7 long frame, Sisley can be a true mismatch problem on the offensive end. His high motor and ability to get out and make a play in transition only make things much more hard for the opposing defense.

As a defender, Sisley is also extremely versatile as that as well. Throughout his time at the Heritage Hills, Sisley was often tasked as a player that would need to protect the rim and perhaps guard the biggest guy on the other team. When on the AAU circuit for either Indy Heat or Indiana Elite, you often saw Sisley guard the wing or a player with his similar skillset. During his senior season at Montverde Academy, you will more-than-likely see him mostly as a perimeter defender.

Throughout the different defensive assignments that Sisley has faced throughout his high school career, it has only added more to his skillset on that end. As everyone knows by now, in order to see playing time under Mike Woodson, you have to be able to defend. Sisley is going to be defender that you have not exactly seen in Mike Woodson’s system over the years. Depending on the matchups, Sisley can guard nearly every spot on the floor and do it at all high level.

To add to to the type of player that Sisley is, he is also going to be bringing a ton of highlight type of plays and very athletic finishes at the rim. Things that we have seen ever since his high school career and that will not stop at the college level.

While it was always a long recruitment with multiple schools being involved, it always felt that Sisley was Indiana bound. The strong relationship that continued to grow between Sisley and Indiana basketball was always fun to see develop.

The Hoosiers never wavered in their purist to land Trent Sisley.

Below are extended highlights of Trent Sisley.
