Indiana basketball returns to the floor today with a road matchup at the historic Palestra, the Cathedral of College Basketball against a very good Penn State squad. The Hoosiers are coming off their 2nd win in the Big Ten vs Rutgers last week.
The Nittany Lions enter the game with a record of 12-2 (2-1 Big Ten) under second-year head coach Mike Rhoades. Penn State has won 12-straight homes games and are off to the program’s best start since the 2019-20 season. PSU has six players averaging at least 9.9 points per game, led by 15.0 points, 8.5 assists, and 2.3 steals per game from fifth-year senior guard Ace Baldwin Jr., the reigning Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year. Junior forward Yanic Konan Niederhauser leads the team in rebounding at 6.8 per contest to go along with 13.1 points.

Not a good shot from Rice but Galloway gets the rebound. Mgbako nails a corner three.
Defensive stop then Mgbako strong take to the rim and score.
Hoosiers get a steal, Galloway fins Mgbako in transition for another three!
Penn State called timeout. Lead is 37-29. Mgbako with 8 points to start the half.
Penn State misses a shot and Rice speeds down to score. 10-0 run by Indiana basketball.
12-0 run Indiana basketball. Ballo got a bucket off a Goode offensive rebound.
Goode 3. Indiana up 13.
Rice strong take and he gets fouled on the shot.

Rice goes 1-2 at the line.
Mgbako with a tough baseline fadeaway.
Myles Rice hits a three and Hoosiers are up 15.
Goode with a three in transition. He did pick up a foul, however. 3 fouls on him. Leal checks in for him.

Galloway with Indiana’s 8th made three. Hoosiers up 61-45.
Couple misses by Carlyle. Ballo picks up his 3rd foul.
Penn State cuts the lead to just 61-51.
Hard foul involving Anthony Leal. It resulted on a Flagrant 1 foul called on Penn State. Leal goes 1-2 at the line. Indiana gets the ball back but Galloway misses a three.

Penn State cuts the lead down to just 8 but Mgbako hits another 3 and the Hoosiers are back up 11.
