The summer months on AAU circuit are when top prospects solidify their ranking and recruitments as well as a time when under-the-radar prospects make a name for themselves and make a significant jump in rankings. That’s exactly what happened with the top recruiting target for the Indiana basketball program in the 2025 class.

Braylon Mullins was a well-known player in the midwest before his junior season. Then, he saw his recruitment widen. But, it wasn’t until a fantastic spring and summer that really flipped his recruitment to an entirely different level.

Mullins helped lead Indiana Elite to a 16-1 record — its only loss in the championship game at the Adidas Championships. He averaged 19.4 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game over the summer and shot 47.3 percent from three (62-of-131) this season. In tournament play, he had nine 20+ point games.

And, shooting is what Mullins is known best for — something that caught the eye of ESPN analyst Paul Biancardi.

“Mullins knocked down 42% of his 3’s on 175 attempts over the past two months. Both are high numbers, and the eye test evaluation confirms his shot preparation has a deep level of fundamentals, strong mechanics and sound shot quality,” Wrote Biancardi. “Vitally, Mullins moves to get open. Great shooters have self-confidence built on countless hours of practice and preparation. Mullins displays that on each attempt.”

Biancardi listed Mullins as the best three-point shooter in the country in his ‘superlatives on the summer circuit’.

Mullins, who is ranked No. 23 in the 247Sports rankings, is coming off of a visit to UConn and has visits upcoming to Michigan, North Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky and others — in addition to a key visit with Indiana basketball.

Mullins will be at Indiana with Indiana Elite teammates Trent Sisley and Malachi Moreno the weekend of September 21.

The borderline 5-star prospect was one of the biggest risers in the 247Sports class of 2025 updated rankings, jumping 68 spots in their rankings up to No. 24 overall and the No. 5 overall shooting guard in the class.

Indiana basketball has been heavily involved with Mullins for the last year and really started to prioritize him in the winter. He is clearly one of the top options — if not the top option – for Indiana.
