Multiple sources confirm to HoosierIllustrated.com that 2023 three-star Linton-Stockton (IN) shooting guard Joey Hart is expected to visit the Indiana basketball program “early this week.”

It was first reported by Stadium Basketball Analyst Jeff Goodman that Hart is planning to visit Kentucky this week and HoosierIllustrated.com is told that visit is expected to take place later in the week.

Rutgers is also reported to be in the mix for Hart at this time as well.

Joey Hart had originally committed Central Florida (UCF) this past August before decommiting and being granted his full release from his national letter of intent from UCF. Hart originally chose UCF over schools such as Ball State, Evansville, and Toledo.

Once his decommitment from UCF became official, it was reported that Hart heard from more than 50 schools including several power five conferences as well as mid majors per WTHI-TV Sports Reporter Rick Semmler.

Hart, a 6-foot-5 shooting guard, led Linton-Stockton in scoring in his senior season averaging 23.1 points while shooting around 41 percent from behind the arc. Hart also led Linton-Stockton to the Class 2A State championship where he scored a team high 33 points in the Miners’ loss to Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian, who is coached by former Indiana basketball guard Matt Roth.

Joey Hart also played for Grand Park Premier and was the leading three-point shooter on the Under Armor UAA Circuit last summer.

He is one of the more pure shooters in the state and has great athletic ability to go along with his elite shot-making. He is a consistent scoring threat both on and off the ball and creates scoring opportunities at a high level.

According to 247 Sports, Joey hart is rated as a three-star top-200 recruit.

Mike Woodson and Indiana basketball are familiar with Hart as there was interest by the Hoosiers in the past. Hart went on a visit to Indiana in the fall of 2021.

Indiana has one open scholarship remaining for the 2023-24 season.
