Former Indiana basketball center Kel’el Ware wrapped up another pre-draft workout this week.

According to Adam Zagoria of Zagsblog.com, Ware was part of a group workout for the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday. Ware joined Adem Bona (UCLA), Ta’Lon Cooper (South Carolina) and Tyler Thomas (Hofstra).

The Cavaliers hold the 20th pick in the 2024 NBA Draft. He worked out for the Portland Trail Blazers earlier this month as well.

Most mock drafts have Ware being selected in the late teens to mid 20s.

While Kel’el Ware didn’t take part in the scrimmage portion of the NBA Combine earlier this month, he showcased why so many scouts are so intrigued with him. His measurements and testing set a combine-record among centers.

Ware averaged 15.9 points, 9.9 rebounds, 1.9 blocks, 1.5 assists and shot 56.8 percent from the field on the season en route to an All-Big Ten Second Team selection during his lone season with Indiana basketball.

In Big Ten play alone, Ware averaged 16.9 points, 10.6 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game. He led the league in field goal percent at 63.2 percent shooting from the floor.

Ware finished this season ranked second in the Big Ten in rebounds per game, third in rebound percent, fourth in player efficiency rating, fifth in blocks per game, sixth in block percentage, eighth in total box plus/minus and 11th in offensive rating.

Kel’el Ware played his best basketball over the last month of the season when he averaged 18.2 points, while shooting 63 percent from the floor, 10.5 rebounds and 2.2 blocks per game in the final 13 games. He averaged 34 minutes per game over that span as well.

“He has great natural touch around the basket and even with his jump shot,” an anonymous NBA scout told HoosierIllustrated.com. “With his big catch radius and size he’s going to have an advantage in the NBA in those short roller type situations where he’s going to have to hit a floater or finish over the top of a help side defender. That’s going to be his bread and butter.”

The NBA Draft takes place on June 26.
