As the college baseball season turns into the back half of the schedule, the NCAA Tournament seeding is becoming more clear. For the Indiana baseball program, its spot in the field is solid as of now.

According to D1Baseball and Baseball America, the Hoosiers are not only in the field but are a host for the NCAA Regional. Right now, the Indiana baseball program sits at 26-11 overall and 9-3 in Big Ten play.

The top 16 seeds are rewarded as a regional host, with a four-team pod taking place at their home field. According to D1Baseball, Indiana is currently the 16th overall seed and would host Kent State, Louisville and Tennessee. Indiana would be the one-seed in its regional. Indiana was one of three new programs to enter the top-16 this week.

“Three teams entered as hosts this week: Coastal Carolina, Connecticut and Indiana … Indiana has surged to 14 in the RPI with a 26-11 overall mark and 9-3 Big Ten record,” says D1Baseball.

In the Baseball America projection, the Indiana baseball program is the 14th overall seed with a pod of Louisville, Tennessee and Central Michigan.

Last week, the Hoosiers entered the top-25 for the first time this season in any poll. They are coming off of a big non-conference win over No. 12 Louisville this week.

Next up is a non-conference matchup with Cincinnati and then a series against Ohio, followed by another one-game stand against Ball State. Indiana returns to Big Ten play on April 28, with a three-game series at home against Maryland.
