With transfer portal recruitingwinding down, high school recruiting is about to see a major uptick as the live period weekends start this weekend. While Mike Woodson and Indiana basketball have been putting most of their focus in the transfer portal this offseason, there are still plenty of targets at the high school level that are key targets, as well.

This weekend with be the first live evaluation period where college coaches at the division one level can be out in-person to watch multiple prospects at the high school level.

In the city of Indianapolis alone, there will be multiple high-level basketball events in the area alone with the headliner being session three of the Nike EYBL Circuit. Key Indiana basketball targets such as Jalen Haralson, Trey McKenney, Darius Adams, and many more will be attendance here in Indianapolis over the weekend.

HoosierIllustrated.com will be live and in-person to witness all the action the entire weekend.

Before we get to the loaded weekend here in Indy, let’s take a look at the key Indiana basketball targets at EYBL Session 3.

AAU Team: Indy Heat 17U

School: La Lumiere

Offers: Indiana, Duke, Kansas, Auburn, Gonzaga, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Missouri, Purdue

Preview: Out of all the players listed here, the five-star point guard out of the state, Jalen Haralson, is the one Indiana basketball fans know the most. He has been on the Hoosiers’ radar even before he played a single high school and has also been on multiple visits to Indiana over the past few seasons. Through the first two sessions of EYBL, Haralson is averaging 17.0 ppg and 5.8 rpg as well. Not a more key Indiana basketball at EYBL than Haralson this weekend.

Position: CG/SF

Height: 6-foot-5

AAU Team: The Family 17U

School: St. Mary’s (MI)

Offers: Indiana, Rutgers, Michigan, Michigan State, Alabama, Arkansas

Preview: The hybrid five-star guard/forward is a player that has been on the Indiana basketball radar for quite sometime now. He is based out of Michigan but has been on multiple visits to Indiana during his recruitment. He is probably one of the more physical players on this list and has a real ‘bulldog’ mentality when on the floor. He averaging 16.8 ppg through two EYBL sessions.

Meleek Thomas

Class: 2025

Position: CG

Height: 6-foot-4

AAU Team: New Heights 17U

School: Lincoln Park Performing Arts (PA)

Preview: The 6-foot-4 five-star combo is the highest rated prospect on Indiana basketball’s target list for this upcoming weekend. In the 2025 class, Thomas is ranked as the No. 6 overall player in the 247Sports composite rankings. He is one of the more skilled players listed here and has that elite athletic ability to be a playmaker. He has visited Indiana multiple times, but is looking to make a return official visit soon.

Darius Adams

Class: 2025

Position: Shooting Guard

Height: 6-foot-4

AAU Team: PSA Cardinals

School: La Lumiere

Offers: Indiana, Michigan, Tennessee, Alabama, Notre Dame, Michigan State, Kansas

Preview: The elite shooting guard is a name that Indiana basketball fans has come to know about over the past year helping with the fact that he is the teammate and close friend to fellow 2025 target Jalen Haralson at La Lumiere. He is a very good shooter with extended range and showed the ability to make both off of the dribble and or catch and shoot opportunities. He visited Indiana basketball last fall and was recently visited by the entire coaching staff a few weeks ago. He is averaging 10.8 ppg this spring thus far.

Kiyan Anthony

Syndication: The Commercial Appeal

Class: 2025

Position: Shooting Guard

Height: 6-foot-5

AAU Team: Team Melo

School: Long Island Lutheran

Offers: Syracuse, Michigan, Florida State, Illinois, Dayton, Memphis, Maryland

Preview: Another player listed here in this preview that is also looking to make a visit to Indiana in the near future is the son of future NBA Hall of Famer Carmelo Anthony, Kiyan Anthony. It is well-documented the relationship that both Carmelo and Indiana basketball head Mike Woodson has going back to their days with the New York Knicks so it is obvious why Indiana would be pursuing this up-and-coming shooting guard. He is a very good scorer and has a great ability to create on the wing and finish from 15-feet and out. Anthony has tremendous length on the perimeter.

Aleks Alston

Preview: The guy with the most size here out of all the Indiana basketball targets that will be at EYBL this weekend is Aleks Alston. He is a 6-foot-9 power forward out of Illinois and has been one of the more dominant players all-around on the EYBL circuit thus far this season. He is one of the more versatile forwards that Indiana is looking at and recently made an Indiana basketball visit this past year. He is going to be one of the bigger stock-risers this summer with live sessions getting underway.

Darius Acuff Jr

Position: PG

Height: 6-foot-3

AAU Team: The Family

School: IMG Academy

Offers: Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Michigan State, Kansas, Houston, Ohio State, LSU, Nebraska, Rutgers, UConn

Preview: Acuff Jr. is another highly-touted guard that has been on Indiana basketball’s radar over the past year. He has not made plans for a visit to Indiana as yet but has stated in the past that it is a school that he would be interested in coming to see. He is listed at the No. 9 overall player in the 2025 class and the way he plays only proves that. He has a high motor and can do a little bit of everything as he is smooth operator on the ball. He and fellow Indiana basketball target Trey McKenney make a tough backcourt duo.
