Miami transfer forward Anthony Walker commits to Indiana

Indiana has received a commitment from Miami transfer forward Anthony Walker, he announced on Saturday.

Walker visited Indiana this week.

Walker played four years at Miami and has one year of eligibility remaining. Walker was ranked as the No. 228 player in the 2019 class in the 247Sports composite rankings.

Last season, Walker averaged 2.8 points and 1.2 rebounds in 10.2 minutes per game. Walker is an athletic forward who was used in spot minutes off of the bench for the Hurricanes.

In the five NCAA Tournament games for Miami this season, Walker averaged 2.4 points in 9.0 minutes per game.

He scored four points and had two rebounds in 13 minutes in Miami’s win versus Indiana in the Round of 32.

Walker has played in 125 total games, including 19 starts, and averaged 4.9 points per game.

The best season for Anthony Walker was in 2020-21 as a sophomore when he averaged 9.6 points and 4.7 rebounds per game. He started 16 of 26 games that season. He scored in double-digits 14 times and had five double-digit rebounding games.

Walker is the third player to transfer to Indiana and joins centers Kel’el Ware and Payton Sparks as incoming transfers. Indiana now has two remaining scholarships available after this announcement and the return of senior guard Xavier Johnson.
