Basketball Recruiting Analyst for HoosierIllustrated.com, Kyler Staley, joined Indiana Sports Beat Radio on Thursday morning to discuss a lot of topics related to the Indiana basketball program.

Among the topics was updated transfer portal options plus other recruiting questions for the Indiana basketball program. Despite missing out on Harvard transfer forward Chris Ledlum, who committed to Tennessee, Mike Woodson and staff still are on track to remain very active in the transfer portal reaching out to multiple players to fill certain roster spots that are open. The first official live evaluation period is also this weekend and the Indiana staff are expected to be out to multiple AAU events to watch the players they are actively recruiting.

As it stands right now, Indiana has landed two transfer commitments first being former Ball State forward Payton Sparks and the other being former Oregon forward Kel’el Ware.

The Hoosiers still currently have three available scholarships for the 2023-24 season, which does not include the potential return for Xavier Johnson who is still waiting for the results of his medical hardship waiver application.

Some of the notable transfer targets that were discussed were: Jalen Deloach (VCU), Cormac Ryan (Notre Dame), Matthew Cleveland (Florida State), and Dalton Knecht (Northern Colorado).
