Indiana basketball hosting Miami forward transfer Anthony Walker for visit

The Indiana basketball program is continuing its push in the transfer portal and it took a next step with a portal target on Thursday. Miami (Fla.) forward Anthony Walker. According to multiple reports, Walker is taking a visit to Indiana today — Thursday.

HoosierIllustrated.com has confirmed reports.

Walker is a 6-foot-9 forward who played four years at Miami and has one year of eligibility remaining.

Last season, Walker averaged 2.8 points and 1.2 rebounds in 10.2 minutes per game. Walker is an athletic forward who was used in spot minutes off of the bench for the Hurricanes.

He averaged 2.4 points in 9.0 minutes per game in five NCAA Tournament games this season. He scored four points and had two rebounds in 13 minutes against Indiana in the Round of 32.

For his career, Walker has played in 125 games (19 starts) and averaged 4.9 points and 2.5 rebounds in 15.1 minutes a game.

The best season for Anthony Walker came in 2020-21 as a sophomore when he averaged 9.6 points and 4.7 rebounds per game. He started 16 of 26 games that season. He scored in double-digits 14 times and had five double-digit rebounding games.

He ranked 13th in the ACC that season in block percentage, while second on Miami in blocked shots.

Walker was ranked as the No. 228 player in the 2019 class in the 247Sports composite rankings.

The Indiana basketball program currently has three open scholarships after Xavier Johnson’s medical waiver was granted.
